Fleurs de pêcher de Chunya | Broderie Shu

This is an incredibly labor-intensive piece of silk embroidery, showcasing a rich blend of advanced Shu embroidery techniques such as luanzhen (random stitch), cheningzhen (twisted stitch), and jiaochazhen (cross stitch). It offers a rare glimpse into how Shu embroidery has evolved in modern times—both in technique and in artistic expression.

The design is inspired by the peach blossoms in a painting by renowned Chinese artist Zhou Chunya, bringing a contemporary edge to this traditional craft.

Using ultra-fine 1-ply, 2-ply and 4-ply silk threads (just 1/16, 1/8 and 1/4 the thickness of a full silk strand), the work reaches an exceptional level of detail and refinement rarely seen in handmade embroidery.
