À propos

Handmade Ronghua | Datura Love

Another bold challenge we gave ourselves—this time inspired by Love and Deep Space! Sylus’s flower turned out to be the Datura—a bloom that’s as mysterious as it is dramatic. 🌙

Across cultures, it’s called things like devil’s trumpet or moonflower, always tied to danger, dreams, and illusion. In the game, Sylus and his love lie in a field of these flowers—poisonous, hallucinatory, and heartbreakingly romantic.

And here’s the fun twist: in Mexico, Datura is called Toloache, and there’s a saying “Te dieron Toloache”—“You were given Toloache.” Basically, it means you’re crazy in love, like you’ve been bewitched by a love potion. Poison + obsession + love story = Sylus, of course. 😭💜

Recreating Datura with ronghua isn’t simple—the trumpet-like petals take patience—but it’s so worth it.
