Kit à faire soi-même Ronghua & Tanghua | Penjing/Bonsaï de bassin de lotus

Have you ever heard about the Lotus Law?

It goes like this: In a lotus pond, only a few flowers bloom on the first day. On the second day, the number of blooming flowers doubles. Every day after that, the number continues to double. By the 30th day, the pond is completely covered with lotus flowers.

So when do you think the pond is half full? Many would guess around the 15th day… but the answer is actually the 29th day.

This is the essence of the Lotus Pond Law, and we think about this a lot whenever we feel stuck or impatient.

Many of us start our journeys full of energy and determination — whether it’s preparing for an exam, learning a new skill, or starting a business. But somewhere along the way — maybe on our own “9th” or “19th” day — we feel bored, frustrated, or even want to give up. What we don’t realize is that success may just be one more step away.

This law reminds us: in the end, it’s not luck or talent that makes the difference — it’s persistence.

That’s why we made this Lotus Pond Penjing DIY Kit — to remind you (and ourselves!) to keep going, because the most beautiful part might just be one more day away.

This is the first time we’ve brought together two traditional Chinese crafts — Ronghua and Tanghua (scorched silk flowers) — in one kit. It’s a medium-level project, perfect if you already know a bit about making Ronghua and want to try your hand at Tanghua too.

Don’t worry — unlike our other Tanghua kits, you won’t need any special shaping irons here. You can shape the lotus leaves gently with just your hands. It’s a calming, creative project — and a lovely way to explore more of China’s craft traditions.

We hope you enjoy every moment of making this little lotus pond. And every time you see it on your shelf, may it remind you: you’re blooming too — even if you don’t see it yet.

Just a quick note!

The colors of some tools in our toolkit—like the tweezer and mini iron—are randomly selected, so you might receive a fun surprise!

For the mini iron, we will provide the matching plug adaptor to your country when dispatching.
