About

From Petals to Bloom (advanced)

Shape, arrange and assemble prepared silk petals into a small Ronghua flower of your own.

This free hands-on taster offers a first encounter with Ronghua without asking you to begin from loose silk or complete an entire DIY project. Our studio will prepare the silk petals in advance, so you can focus on the most satisfying part: giving each petal its curve, bringing the flower together and watching it slowly come to life in your hands.

Your finished flower will be yours to take home.

What You Will Do

During the session, you will:

- discover how Ronghua petals are made from mulberry silk and fine copper wire;
- shape prepared petals gently with your fingers and simple tools;
- arrange the petals to create a balanced flower;
- assemble the individual pieces around a stem;
- make final adjustments so your flower feels natural and uniquely yours.

No two flowers will look exactly the same—and we think that is part of their charm.

What Is Already Prepared

Traditional Ronghua making usually begins with loose silk fibres, which are brushed, arranged, attached to copper wire, twisted and carefully trimmed.

To make this short experience relaxed and achievable, our studio will prepare the silk petals before the session. You will begin with the petals and learn how their final shape and character are created through hand-moulding and assembly.

This is an introduction to the craft rather than the complete Ronghua process.

A small flower may only take a short time to assemble, but it carries the same spirit as every Ronghua piece: patience, curiosity and the joy of making something by hand:)
