Handmade Ronghua | London Peony

The London Peony is a special design born from our London pop-up — a small flower imagined especially for this brief chapter of Lansei in the city.

If you could use one colour to describe London, what would it be?

Perhaps rainy blue-grey. Perhaps the red of a passing bus, the deep green of an old garden, the warmth of weathered brick, or the soft cream of limestone façades.

When we began thinking about a peony for our London pop-up, we kept returning to two colours in particular: the quiet grey-blue of a rainy sky, and the warm cream of stone catching a little afternoon light.

And so, the London Peony came to life.

Its petals move between elegant blue-grey and warm ivory tones, creating a flower that feels both cool and gentle — a little like London itself on a late-summer day, when the sky is cloudy but the light still carries some warmth.

Unlike most of our Ronghua projects, this piece comes fully finished. Each peony is shaped and assembled by hand in our studio, ready to wear, gift, display, or keep as a small memory of this London pop-up.

It began as a flower for one city, one season, and one special event.

But perhaps it does not have to belong only to London.

Maybe it can simply be a flower for anyone who has ever loved a grey sky, an old city, or that brief moment when cool air and warm light happen to meet.
