Our Mission
Our mission is to inspire reflection and ignite new ideas through the art of crafting. By traveling across China, we uncover centuries-old traditional crafts made from natural materials, exploring the life philosophies behind them. We believe crafting is a transformative lifestyle, a way to shape the world you desire with your own hands—not just a hobby or a pastime. From your fingertips, crafting holds the power to change the world.
The Team
Meet the dream team dedicated to sharing the joy of crafting with anyone eager to explore their creativity.
Know more about...

Jing
Founder of Lansei China
Jing started Lansei China after wrapping up her career at an international bank in Dubai. Now, she leads Lansei’s R&D, traveling around China to discover centuries-old traditional crafts made from natural materials. She’s passionate about the philosophies behind these crafts and loves finding ways to reimagine them for modern life. Through LANSEI, Jing is bringing these beautiful crafts back to people who appreciate them while also supporting local artisans to keep these traditions alive for future generations.
Jing’s love for crafting runs in the family. Her grandfather was a bamboo-weaving artisan in Sichuan, and it’s always been a regret that she never had the chance to preserve his work before he passed. After years of living and working abroad, she started craving something more cultural and meaningful—something beyond just chasing profits. That’s when she rediscovered her interest in Chinese crafts, and that’s how Lansei China was born.
Jing's Favourite: Red Maple Penjing

Gui Ting
Director of Content & Ronghua Tutorials
As Lansei China’s Content Director and lead Ronghua maker, Gui Ting is known for having the most skillful hands on the team. She’s someone who loves working with her hands and really connects with the craftsmanship process. Always eager to learn, she’s constantly experimenting with new crafts, DIY tricks, and tips—though Ronghua will always be her favorite!
With a background in Staging Arts in the film industry, Gui Ting brings her creativity to life by crafting engaging content and tutorials for Lansei. Outside of work, she’s a huge fan of Han Fu (traditional clothing worn by the Han Chinese) and is obsessed with Chinese dramas.
Guiting's Favourite: Purple Chrysanthemum; Purple Iris

Tang
Head of Design & Ronghua Production
Tang didn’t just join Lansei; she chose us with her whole heart. After a long conversation with Jing, she packed up her life in another province (a three-hour flight away!) and trusted that this was where she was meant to be. She has practiced ronghua since 2021, exploring every path — from being an independent artisan to live-stream collaborations — but nothing resonated with her like Lansei’s story and purpose. Now she leads our finished-piece design and production, bringing her imagination to life with calm confidence. She is also the face behind many of our product shoots — so if she looks familiar on our website or social media, now you know why.
Tang also enjoys chatting with our studio cats (Duo Duo and Sao Sao) and occasionally tries to share her extremely healthy snacks… which the rest of us politely decline. Outside the studio, she can be found sketching in nature or traveling with her many friends — she insisted we emphasize “many.”
Tang's favourite: Datura Love

Jiang
Inventory Manager
A gentle soul who laughs easily but works seriously, Jiang is our warehouse and inventory whisperer. She notices everything — even the tiniest difference between two beads — and nothing slips past her. She and Chen form the behind-the-scenes duo that makes sure every order is packed with precision and care.
When the day winds down, you’ll find Jiang curled up with her favorite Chinese TV dramas — the quiet, cozy moments she treasures after taking care of her son and the studio.
Jiang's Favourite: Fragrant Secret Gourd

Chen
Supply Chain Manager
A mother of two and a forever student of life, Chen approaches everything with curiosity and an open heart. Nothing excites her more than discovering a whole new world she’s never heard of — and then learning it from scratch. At Lansei, she leads our supply chain with care and intuition, making sure every material that arrives in our studio is good enough to become something you’ll love. She also works closely with Jiang in fulfilling orders and preparing parcels.
Outside of work, Chen disappears into nature whenever she can — hiking, tasting local foods, and dreaming about faraway places she hasn’t visited yet. She hasn’t traveled abroad (yet!), which makes it extra special for her that the parcels she prepares fly across oceans, arriving in homes she has never seen. One day, we hope to take her with us — so she can meet the people who cherish her work as much as we do.
Chen's Favourite: Lotus Pond Penjing

Yue
Ronghua Specialist
Our newest team member and possibly the luckiest one in the art of ronghua. Yue arrived with pure enthusiasm but very little experience in the craft — and within just three months, under the loving guidance of Tang and Guiting, she grew into a confident artisan. She’s now an important part of our production for finished pieces.
Her daughter is her biggest fan, asking about her work almost every day and celebrating every new flower Yue makes. Yue has worked in big cities across China, but over the years she found that nothing matters more than family, peace, and doing something she genuinely loves. She jokingly calls her new chapter “lying flat (躺平),” but to us she’s not lying down at all — she’s standing exactly where she needs to be.
Yue's Favourite: White Gardenias

Wen
Our Logistic Partner
Wen is far more than the driver who comes to collect our parcels — he’s been with us sinceDay One. Other than Jing, he’s probably the only person who has witnessed every stage of Lansei’s journey: from our tiny beginnings to the busy, joyful studio we are today.
Wen doesn’t just pick up packages; he genuinely cares about them. He’ll point out if a box could be packed better, share tips he’s learned on the road, and help us think through shipping challenges when they arise. And honestly, we’ve lost count of how many times he’s waited patiently outside while we rushed to finish packing “just a few more” orders.
To us, Wen is reliability wrapped in kindness — the steady presence who quietly supports our little studio every single day.

Duo Duo
And then there’s Duo Duo, the calico cat we adopted after the team moved into our first studio in Chengdu, Sichuan.
Duo Duo LOVES packing time—she’s obsessed with the boxes, wrapping paper, and tape! So if you’ve received a package from us, it’s definitely had the Duo Duo stamp of approval!

Sao Sao
The baby of our studio (and she knows it). We adopted Sao Sao from our venue manager, and she quickly revealed herself to be Duo Duo’s complete opposite — explosive energy, endless curiosity, and a talent for chaos that inspired our Halloween “evil kitten” project.
Surprisingly, she loves the camera. On product-shooting days, she’ll sit proudly next to our new creations like an unofficial model.
